Constant News Coverage Negativity - And They Are SO WRONG! - STOP The Generalizations!

Barbara-Jo's Beach Blog,PalmHarborRealEstateBlog.comThis is something that REALLY drives me crazy since the general public looks to the news coverage on their television for facts on what is going on in our nation and in the housing market.

Last night we had the evening news on and it was reported that the housing market is still declining and 2012 is going to be a horrible year, just as 2011 has been. WHAT? It was my personal BEST year since I have had my Realtor license! Therefore, I beg to differ with that reporter!

WHY do they have to generalize like that? What AREA of our nation are they talking about? I know for a fact that in Florida condo sales and condo sale prices INCREASED 7% from October 2010 to October 2011.

If we look at existing home sales in Florida from August 2010 to August 2011, we see an increase of 15%! The indications are that Florida is LEADING a real estate recovery!

So WHY do we always have to hear doom and gloom on the nightly news? Can't they, for once, report on something positive and let people know what is happening in different areas of the nation? I just don't understand that mentality!
