I always go with the tenants to do walk-though before move in.
Always, but not this time - sent to unit their agent and tenants to check the unit before move in. Our dear tenants and agent got back to our office, gave checks, got keys... No complains. Oh, yes, I did my job, finally, landlord changed carpet and "cleaning" lady was in the unit...
Today, I went to another unit with this landlord to preview the unit we put for rent on the market and we stop by at the unit wich was rented just three days ago. This young couple with 5 months old daughter third day were cleaning. I don't know, what the cleaning lady was doing there... Dirty, dirty kitchen, bathroom, windows, balcony...Oh gosh, I wish I knew or I wish, I did not believe landlord when he told me - unit is ready...
Dear tenants. Do not be nice. You do pay money to move in. You did not get it for free.
Do not move in, if the unit is not clean! Ask for credit for cleaning or hire cleaning lady and deduct from the rent! - unit has to be clean...
