Local Businesses Helping Those in Need

My friend, we'll call her "Susie," is one of the 20% of uninsured Floridians. She shared some good news with me today that I thought was worthy of passing along.

New or current Publix customers are being offered free antibiotics. "Susie" was informed of this program through her doctor and found it to be true, and easy to fill the prescription at a Hollywood Area Publix.

I googled the program and found that Wal-Mart began offering a $4.00 generic drug program about a year ago. I was happy when looking at Target's website that they followed suit and now offer $4.00 generic drugs as well!

This won't fix all the needs of South Florida's uninsured, but it certainly is a step in the right direction.
