It is funny, around every holiday, FedEx calls me to ask me if I am open and will I have packages to ship out. (they come to my house every day unless I do not have an outgoing package) I always have to answer yes, unless you hear from me, as I can have a shipment any day, and the holiday makes no difference. I even have a notary assignment later today in a neighboring town. Do I mind, absolutely not, I love being open all the time. Having worked at a police department for 16 years kind of made holidays like, just another day. Don't get me wrong, I often go see fireworks on July 4th, and the Thanksgiving/Christmas I have a great time with family, and usually don't have assignments on these days, but if I do, I don't mind it, it is work, and I love it! I am always open for any notary business 24/7/365. Have a great July 4th everyone!

I am always working like you..I don't mind it..I love the challenge of getting new business and the money is not bad either!!!
We always have our eye on the business. We are working...but enjoying the day as well.
I am doing a couple work items today but really nothing under pressure.
We work on holiday because our clients are off and can view homes with ease because they do not have to go to work. Yet again some of us are workacholics (Smile).

I will chime in with a profound YES! I am working today! Well, at least I am open, willing and able! Had a call for general notary work already this morning, and hope for more...but if not, you can believe that I will be marketing. I have to admit, though, that because I am my own boss, and because I get to make the rules, and of course follow by my own set standards, I am not sure I would be so eager to work for anyone else for a paycheck as I am for doing business for myself, even with overtime. I am the best boss that I've ever had!
I work 24/7 including holidays...and I have never been so passionate for a business as I am for my very own.

This is one of the few holidays I haven't had a call. I think I have worked almost every holiday in the last 6 years, except Christmas & Thanksgiving.

I am always talking about finding the underserved niche notary services in your area.
Being available on holidays / Sundays could be one of them.
In my huge county, there are only 2 notaries available on Sundays: me and a notary in one of those creepy paycheck advance loan places.
Guess who cleans up? :-)

Laura, I rarely get business on a Sunday or holidays, but I do sometimes. I've even had a loan signing on a Sunday, to the best of my recollection, only one. I still don't mind, even if I get an assignment on a Sunday, it doesn't take much time, or take me away from anything. Have a GREAT remainder of the weekend!! I am always open on the 4th of July as well as other holidays. I realize sometimes people really need us due to traveling or personal reasons and I am always happy to accommodate.

I get a lot of Public Notary work on Sundays. I think the reason is people need to have something notarized for Monday and are left with little choice but to find a mobile notary.
