PGA Winner/Harrington and Golf Courses in Fort Myers

Great Golf Coursesin Fort Myers, Naples, too; not a shortage of golf courses in Southwest Florida. I haven't played much lately with my business, and August isn't my favorite month for playing golf. Just too hot, but in a few weeks . . . but watching some of the PGA tournament today was fun.

The winner was Padraig Harrington, an Irishman, his second Major this year. He also won the British Open. Sergio Garcia came close, but no cigar. That first elusive Major win is still a work in progress for him.

Sergio didn't loose his temper, looked more mature (less prima-dona)but did put one iron approach in the water on the 16th and got away with a great recovery for a bogey. But when it came down to knocking down these 10 footers in the last 4 holes, Harrington, with his usual no blink stare and huge confidence, knocked them in. Got to give him credit he shot 32 on Sunday at the British Open and also 32 at the PGA on the back nine. It is the luck of the Irish? Its more then that. He was just better. Sergio looked good with his irons and even his putting was very decent but a 37 on the back nine will not get it done. Yes, a certain Tiger Woods was not present. Lets be real, even for Tiger a 32 on the back nine is unsual. We will never know. Yes, Tiger is still number one in the world.

Harrington reminds me to keep on harder, to focus, to enjoy what you are doing in my own business. He is as much an inspiration as as Greg Norman was at the British Open.
