| THE Daytona Beach Real Estate & Community Events blog. By Lisa C. Hill, "THE SMART CHOICE!" |
For all you bikers, and for those of you who just like to watch, next week, October 16-18, 2008 is this year's Biketoberfest! Be sure to check out the official Biketoberfest web site, sponsored by Bruce Rossmeyer Harley Davidson and Destination Daytona, for a list of events. There are far too many to list here. But it's safe to say there is far more going on, than you'll ever be able to see, even if you don't sleep for days!
Something new for this year is Rocktoberfest! Follow the link to the Bruce Rossmeyer Harley Davidson and Destination Daytona site for
more Rocktoberfest information.
Another point of interest for anyone who is planning to attend Biketoberfest, or the Bike Races at the Daytona International Speedway, or if you're considering moving to the Daytona Beach area, is Wyotech. This is one very good reason to buy real estate in Daytona or Ormond Beach. Wyotech is a private school for people who are interested in having a specialized career, working on specific brands like BMW, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, Ducati and of course, Harley Davidson. The
Wyotech campus is located at 470 Destination Daytona Lane, Ormond Beach, FL 32174, which is also the home of Bruce Rossmeyer's Harley Davidson empire at Destination Daytona. For more information about Wyotech and the training it offers, you can call 386-255-0295 or click on the preceding link to visit their web site. Of course, the most fun way to learn more about Wyotech would be to come on down to Biketoberfest next weekend and check it out for yourself while you enjoy the festivities.
All the photos in this post are from Bike Week 2008, which was in March of this year. The photo to the right is one I'm sure you men will enjoy =P I shrunk it down in hopes that it won't be too offensive... I hope it worked? To be honest, if you're planning to attend a Bike Week or Biketoberfest, there's a good possibility you'll see a lot more flesh than this. At least this girl has the body to be seen this way! =)
P.S. If anyone finds the last photo offensive, please let me know and I'll be happy to remove it. I actually know the girl from the gym, and I know how hard she works out. And she's obviously umm... proud of her body? LOL

Melissa- Really? We should get together while you're here!
Looks like fun! I sent this blog to a Biker friend of mine..:-)
Absolutely! We will definitely be over that Saturday. Our favorite hang-outs are of course Iron Horse, Boothill, Main St... What re your local favorites?
Hi Lisa - I used to work for a gentleman who was a fan of Harleys, Triumphs, and women! He always went to Bike Week and came back with a lot of stories!
Melissa- Since I've lived here my whole life, I usually just take a stroll down Main Street, mainly to take pictures and video, and get a few laughs ;) I have videos of some excellent bands that were there for Bike Week, but I had trouble getting them to upload properly to You Tube since they've made a lot of changes to the site. I'm going to keep trying though. It's some good stuff.
Ann- So, did your friend ever do any naked cole slaw wrestling at Sopotnik's Cabbage Patch? =P
Liz- Thanks! I'm sure he'll be surprised by how many more events there are this year. Biketoberfest is like the half-loved step sibling of Bike Week. There's not usually much going on, except a whole lot of partying since it's only a 3 day weekend, instead of 10 days, like Bike Week. But when I checked the web site, I was shocked by all the events they have planned.
Always interesting in Daytona when the bikers show up...
Wow - lots of interesting events in your neck of the woods. Our bikers over here are pretty tame, and we don't ever get that many together as it means shipping bikes interisland. But they do get together on long weekends once in a while.
Hi Lisa,
Wow, this looks like quite an event. And you're right about that photo. I'll have to tell my two younger sisters about it, they're Harley Chicks themselves. Although...they don't look anything like this.
Lisa... I would love to be down there for bike week. I guess from this, there are two bike weeks? I have been down to Daytona the week before bike week and it was still pretty wild then. That was back in 1987.
Lisa, this man always shared WAY more than you could ever want to know about his escapades! I don't remember hearing about naked cole slaw wrestling, but I'd be willing to bet he's a regular at that event.
Jeff- We have Bike Week in March, and Biketoberfest in October. Bike Week is what most people attend since it lasts 10 days. Biketoberfest is just a long weekend.
Ann- I've never seen the naked Cole Slaw wrestling. I just drive by Sopotnik's Babbage Patch. It's a tiny little dive bar on the outskirts of town. The bar itself couldn't hold more than maybe 50 people, but it's on a huge piece of land. Thousands of bikers camp on the land and get really nasty! Some REALTOR friends of mine went one year. The stories I heard from them made me glad I decided not to go! And the traffic backs up for miles around for this nasty place.
I'm sure you get alot of people that just like to come and 'watch'. Of course they are looking at the bikes -- yah right!! It might not be 'the thing' for everyone - but wow - I'm just thinking of the boost to y'alls economy :)
Girl! I hope you got a release from the chic with the flowers on here ne-ne's LOL
Lisa, great job on the blogs. I am new to AR, and can see myself spending more time here . Looks like you have put an incredible amount of time and energy into AR. It is very impressive.
Katrina- Bonnie used to take my aerobics class at one of the local gyms. She's a trip! And actually, all these photos are just frames pulled out of a viideo I was making for You Tube. So yeah. She knows she's all over the internet. She loves it! LOL
Ron- Thanks!
Lisa, we have a Republic of Texas Rally here in Austin that brings up to 30,000 bikers from all over Texas. I thought it was funny that you included the pic of the statuesque lady...It is always good to attract attention! have a great week!
Russell- I was thrilled to find a photo of a woman who looked good at the event. It's unbelievable, how many granny's are walking around almost naked. LOL
Oh my gosh I am laughing so hard because it is the same every where! One more thing, I have already subscribed to your blog but would like to add you as an associate (I always ask first) and wanted to know what you would like for me to post in the description! Thanks again. - Russell
Russell- I've never had anyone ask me that. Hmm. I don't really know what to put in the description. If you want to keep it simple, just leave it at Daytona Beach area REALTOR. Whatever =)
Okay, I will take something from your profile. Thanks again and have a good week!
Lisa-
LOL, I want to thank you for the mental picture you were describing to Russell of the Grannys walking around nearly naked. I'm off to try and drink that image away! Thanks for the chuckle.
Bryant- Good luck with that. Just be glad you didn't have to actually see it.
Russell- Just don't take a certain photo off this post for my description. LOL
Lisa You are cracking me up!!! I am glad to have made your aquaintence!!
1 post to bring all the bikers out of the wood work! Good posting!
Lisa,
Ask your friend what she used to hold those pasties up.. Mines always keep falling(LOL)
Laura- LOL! Believe it or not, there were 3 girls in a row, at those beer tubs. 2 of them had those floweres glued on, and the 3rd one was only wearing the yellow, plastic strips of police caution tape, somehow attached to just the right places.
