Safety Harbor is rich in history! This wonderful community of approximately 20,000 that is minutes to Tampa and the Gulf Beaches was originally settled by the Timucuan Tribe long before the Spanish came to our shores! In 1528 Navarez landed in what is today Safety Harbor, sailing up the mouth of Tampa Bay.

Later, in 1539, Hernando de Soto came through looking for the famed Fountain of Youth. He found our beautiful local spring and named it Espiritu Santo Springs. These springs still attract thousands annually to Safety Harbor!
