"State of the County: St. Johns County, Florida - Ted Tyndall"

St. Johns County passed the 2009/2010 budget with a 4.5% reduction in property tax revenue. Overall budgeted revenues were decreased more than 20%. This is the fourth year the county has reduced it'd budget.
The county began preparing for the downturn in capital a number of years ago. They cut costly operating and maintenance cost, implementing hiring chills, reducing spending and adopting reforms for employee retirement benefits.
St. Johns County is in a state of constant improvement and is focused on the future. They state they cannot control the conditions under which they serve, but they have a solid administrator at the helm and a dedicated hardworking staff who understand the promise and future of St. Johns County to chart a course of sustainability and success.
St. Johns County is simply one of the best places to live.
Future of the County: Even with the current challenges and an overbuilt environment, the county must undertake state mandated, long term planning at the county and regional level.
Anyone interested in this area should visit the administrator's website.
There will be a St. Johns County event held November 10th at 6pm at the Agricultural Center. You can register online.
