Vilano Beach Main Street Designated Florida Main Street Program

On December 3, Interim Secretary of State Dawn K. Roberts announced the selection of Vilano Beach Main Street as the Florida Main Street Program of the month for December 2010. Vilano Beach was designated a Main Street community in 2003. The press release gives more information about Vilano Beach and the Florida Main Street Program.

I have been a part of the revitalization of Vilano Beach since 1998 and serve as the current Vice-President of the North Shores Improvement Association, the parent organization of Vilano Beach Main Street. The Vilano Beach Main Street community volunteers (was Vilano Beach Waterfronts before 2003) have accomplished much since 1998 when we worked on our vision. Our most exciting announcement is the Publix Grocery store planned to open in late 2011/early 2012.
