As we schedule our showings for next week, we jotted down our top Sarasota property picks for the month. From time to time, the properties in Sarasota that we enjoy showing change but these are the buildings and the neighborhoods that made the list for August 2008.

Next week's showing schedule includes customers searching for a downtown condo in Sarasota with comfortable square footage and a price range of under $1,200,000. We have appointments to view several condominiums including properties in our top picks at 100 Central and 1350 Main. Rental restrictions are not a factor this time as our customers plan to live year-round in Sarasota. Another customer needs a home in Sarasota, preferably on the water although it doesn't have to be on one of the keys. Theses customers from Indiana would like to have a deep water dock for their large boat and their price range is under $3,000,000. Since they need to be close to Sarasota Memorial Hospital, our pick is Harbor Acres.

Searching the Sarasota MLS for 100 Central, there are currently 6 condos available and 1350 Main now lists 19 condos for sale. Urban living is the hottest new lifestyle in the country.

Our Month's Additional Top Sarasota Properties:

West of the Trail: Neighborhood near Sarasota Memorial Hospital and downtown. Homes are conveniently located to all Sarasota's amenities. The waterfront neighborhood in this area is Harbor Acres. This community is not gated.

Oyster Bay Estates: Another West of the Trail neighborhood within easy driving distance to downtown and the hospital although not quite as close is Oyster Bay Estates. Homes and lawns are beautiful and pride of ownership is obvious. This community is not gated.

Emerald Pointe: Bay Isles is the central neighborhood for Emerald Pointe. Guard gated and beautifully maintained. There is also beach access to the Bay Isles Beach Club on Longboat Key Beach. The MLS database reports a few homes for sale here.
