Rotary Club of Spring Hill Florida helps "People Helping People in Hernando County"

"People Helping People in Hernando County" is a non profit organization dedicated to helping the people in the community that are in need.

The organization is comprised of all volunteers who are dedicated to fight hunger in our community.

Every Sunday, "People Helping People" provides a meal in a nice setting to anyone who wants to come. At the Sunday dinners, guests can also obtain clothing, groceries, toiletries and information about other resources that they may need.

Members of the Rotary Club of Spring Hill, Florida, were volunteering today in front of one of our major retailers to spread the word about this wonderful organization.

This public awareness action was to draw attention to this resource that is available to the people in Hernando County should they choose to use it.

Another part of today's effort was to let people in the community know that "People Helping People" depends on donations and volunteers to accomplish its mission, thus, donations in any amount, food items, clothing, or volunteer work are very much appreciated.

Apparently, many of the people we talked to today recognized that "People Helping People" is a great organization deserving their support. THANK YOU to all of those who have so freely and gladly contributed today!

Providing meals to the hungry was the organization's first focus. Additionally, "People Helping People" has now joined with the "Blessings in a Backpack" program, a national program to provide food to elementary school age children on weekends. The organization has been very successful in serving several of Hernando County's elementary schools.

In today's environment there are many people coping with difficult times. Often we think of helping others only when some holiday or special occasion is approaching. "People Helping People" is helping people all year long and truly is a making a difference in Hernando County! Thank you!

Meals are served every Sunday from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm at the Senior Citizen Club,, 7925 Rhanbouy Rd, Spring Hill, Florida.
