WHERE IN THE WORLD IS SPRING HILL FLORIDA?

We get that question all the time? Well where is Spring Hill? I never heard of it! Well neither had I until friends moved here from Rhode Island and told us about this great land of milk and honey. A place where the living was easy and cheap!

Spring Hill is located 45 minutes north of Tampa. We are about an hour from Clearwater Beach and St. Petersburg. The Veterans Parkway put us on the map. Before it opened, we weren't even a dot on the map. Spring Hill is a subdivision - not a town. It was originally developed as a retirement area. That is no longer the case. Since the tollway opened, it lets commuters get to Tampa much faster so its opened up the job market. People move here because they can get more house for the money and they like the small town atmosphere.

We are growing as we now have our own Carrabbas, J.C. Penneys, Marshalls, Target (soon to have another), Kohls (opening soon), Panera Bread and many other shops and restaurants. We also have the distinction of having 4 (yes 4) Wal-Marts! We are not that big but for some reason Wal-Mart thinks we need one on every corner! They are actually trying to build a 5th store!

As we all know, Florida isn't cheap any longer but living in Spring Hill isn't too bad. There are some 55+ gated golf communities that are reasonably priced and for a flat fee every month, you can play as much golf as you like plus there is a community center, a pool, tennis courts, workshop, gym and to many activities to name.

There are some nice neighborhoods where children still play in the yards and you can hear a mom calling for the kids to come in for dinner. We also have areas where you have total privacy and you don't have to talk to anyone if you don't want to.

Spring Hill has been a very well kept secret for years! No longer! We are 1 1/2 hours drive from Orlando which isn't a bad drive. We can get to the other coast in about 4 hours.

We are the Nature Coast so we have lots of water fowl, bears (although I've never met anyone who has seen one), don't see much roadkill, gopher turtles, sandhill cranes and who knows what else. We are famous for the Mermaids of Weeki Wachee Springs where Mermaids and Manatees swim together.

So if anyone ever ask you "Where in the world is Spring Hill?" you will be able to answer.
