I've included the 2007 Money Magazine City stats for the city of Weston FL. I find it very interesting when you compare them to the best places average.
If you look at these comparisons you will notice that Weston Florida's medium family income is higher...family purchasing power is higher and the job growth % from 2000-2006 is more than double. Yet if you look at our sales tax...you will notice that those figures are lower. Please look at the rank for our city and you will see that it is no where in the top 100 cities.
Let's compare Weston FL with the top best places. You will see where the average figures stack up against the rest. In my opinion as a resident of Weston FL....our fair city is an excellent place to purchase a home and to set down some roots for your family. Inventory in our housing market is high in general and "it's a great time for buyers to come to Florida and purchase a home." Prices continue to come down and should be leveling off soon so if you want to take advantage of finding a good deal out there then you should contact a Weston FL Realtor® who in knowledgeable in the area and also is a proud citizen here as well. The city provides a large venue of different activities to choose from.

Neal Excellent idea and very informative for prospective relos
Hi Neal,
Man that article turned alot of heads. But you are so wise to direct people's attention the way you have because all towns may not have made the cut but they sure are worth considering. Besides which, this was only one article and they couldn't include every place that fit the same description.
Interesting.
I looked at the Weston numbers and with a median home price of $510,000 and a median income of $109,000, it would appear that the median home buyer could buy a median home if they had a median down payment of $60,000 with a median interest rate of 6% which would give them a median mortgage loan of $450,000.
I have never been able to deal with medians. I like averages. No matter.
Looks like you're in Southern Florida. I just looked at homes priced around $500K. Nice homes.
The question is, are folks buying?? They certainly are not around here, at least not in large numbers.
Neal, lower sales tax works for me, I wish Connecticut would lower theirs. I have read a lot of your Posts on Weston, FL and it looks to be a great place to live.
John,
Thanks for stopping by and reading.
Lisa,
Which article were you talking about?
Lenn,
Actually it has picked up a little...we haven't sold anything in here for a while but we just closed on two in the last two weeks in the surrounding areas.
George,
Same here..it is that's why we chose here ourselves.
