Ybor City in Florida

Ybor City is a historic neighborhood just east of Tampa Florida. It was founded in 1886 by Vicente Martinez Ybor, a prominent Spanish-born cigar manufacturer and in its peak had 200 cigar factories and rolled 700 million cigars per year. The residents were from Cuba, Italy and Spain making this a very diverse city. Many of the old buildings are still there and there has been an effort to revitalize the community.

There are many little shops lining 7th Avenue and at night there are many night clubs to choose from. On Saturdays there are vendors in the park with live entertainment, you never know what you will find that you just can't live without.

There are several places to eat in Ybor City but if you go there you must try the Columbia Restaurant, it was established in 1905 and has won several awards. The food is some of the best I have ever eaten and the building is an experience in itself. Authentic Cuban food is the main cuisine, if you haven't had it, that is the place to try it out.

There are some great deals if you are looking for Ybor City real estate. Many of the homes have been remodeled and brought up to date. There is also some new construction in Ybor City as well. If you are looking for a loft there are several for sale.
