Phillip's Variety Store in Downtown Alpharetta Closes after 57 Years!

Phillips Variety Store in downtown Alpharetta was like taking a trip back in time to the old locally owned five-and-dime stores. Phillips Variety was an historic icon in downtown Alpharetta. Phillips sold "Double Bubble Gum" underwear, yarn, toys and all the things that made life so enjoyable for such a reasonable price. The store finally closed after the owner and store operator Ermine "Dimp" Phillips died at the age of 91 - she passed on July 19, 2009. Phillips Variety Store will be missed! Our condolances to her family, and a sincere thanks for all the years the store has served our Alpharetta community.
