I enjoy going to Turner Field to see the Atlanta Brave play. It's a great organization and the ballpark is magnificent. I know what I'm talking about because over the past two years, we have been to 8 different major league ballparks.
Turner Field was the former stadium where the 1996 Olympics were held. After the Olympics, they reconfigured it to a state of the art baseball stadium. They built it on the former parking lot for Fulton County Stadium. They then blew up that stadium and built a parking lot. They did leave a memorial to Hank Aaron right there in the parking lot where his 715th home run went over the left field fence.
I think the best deal for seats are the upper level down the left field line. They usually have a lot of those seats for only $5. I actually like the view from there. This week we paid $12 to get down on the field level and didn't enjoy the view from there as much as when we were high up. It is also very convenient to the Coke plaza at the very top of the stadium. There's a big Coke bottle there where they shoot off fireworks after every home run. They also have a place where the kids can run the bases.
If you are a baseball history fan, make sure you visit the Braves museum inside the stadium. There are some nice displays.
There is a variety of food for everyone's taste. It's kind of expensive but you kind of expect that. We ate at the Chop Shop and it cost us $128 for four adults and two kids. It's probably better to stop at the Varsity ahead of time. It is nice though that they allow you to bring in your own food and drinks. Not many stadiums allow that anymore.
Cartoon Network created an attraction just inside the entrance plaza. We checked it out the year it opened and my kids weren't too impressed. If you don't have time, you won't be missing much.
The thing that you just can't ignore inside the stadium is the huge TV screen they have above the center field stands. It's the biggest one I have ever seen and it is super clear. I just wish they would show more replays.
If you come to Atlanta, make sure you check out a Braves game at Turner Field.
Warren Spahn statue just outside stadium
Biggest screen I've ever seen!
The Budweiser Pavilion. Great view of the game.
Coke bottle up in left field. Nice little park up there for the kids.
Tooner Field by Cartoon Network. Don't bother unless you have time to kill.
Batting practice usually starts at 5 pm.
The one and only Hank Aaron.
