The Atlanta commercial real estate market has been in decline 2 years. The suburbs of Atlanta which include Canton, Alpharetta, Woodstock, and Cumming have have all felt the sting of the economic crisis. There has been a multitude of new commercial foreclosures and mortgage defaults in these cities and others. While the Metro Atlanta residential real estate market declines at a steady pace, the commercial market has been slowly following.
Many medium to large sized companies have still been relocation to Atlanta from other US cities. They have been seeking Executive office space for there new corporate headquarters. Despite the national economic problems, Atlanta has been a popular pick lately for all types of businesses and industries.
Many high tech companies have been moving into research and development parks, medical laboratories and setting call centers deep into the Atlanta suburbs. These companies have created many jobs and improved the city's economy over the last 5-10 years. This will help the overall value of Atlanta Real Estate.
Atlanta is also a prime city for distribution and sales. Serving as a gateway to the south, Atlanta is one of the largest transportation junction cities in the US. With 3 major Interstate highways(I-20, I-75, and I-85)and a multitude of railway intersecting in Atlanta, this city is a hot-bed for distribution. And don't forget about Atlanta-Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. The airport is consistently ranked as one of the top 5 busiest airports in the world.
