Cabin Fever in North Georgia's Big Canoe

dsc_000217.jpgNorth Georgia cabins seem to be the latest and the greatest in true getaways. The simple life has a quality that leads us to challenge our inner Survival tactics. What if all you had was a deck of cards, some board games, a stack of wood, a fireplace, your family or some friends and one change of clothes??? Add a copy of Walden, a crockpot full of chili and your toothbrush? There is just something special about going outside in the morning on the rocking chair porch with a cup of coffee and a good book. You see the sunrise, hear the birds instead of the traffic and you can walk your dog in your PJ's! That's living in Big Canoe! As rustic as it all seems we do have our necessities, golf, tennis, swim club, restaurant, fishing, hiking and a very short one hour drive to Atlanta.

6152 Trout Lily Trail went under contract yesterday and though I'll miss the sellers I look forward to watching the new owners transition to the Big Canoe way of living where they can relax and apreciate the wildlife and peace that makes Big Cnoe real estate sust a treasure. They may visit on the weekends for a year and decide to move up full time, which is not uncommon!! This adorable 2 bedroom 2 bath cabin has more charm than many of the full timers. The sellers included the furnishings so all the new owners have to bring is food and toothbrushes. This was my hottest showing listing. On the tail of the contract I picked up another 2 bedroom  bath home with just as much charm and Cabin Fever!

9073 Yearling Lane is a darling log Cabin sold fully furnished with all new appliances, decks and a big front screened porch! The loft bedroom and abundant wood make you feel like you are in the middle of Colorado yet it has all the conveniences of Big Canoe! Yes we have phone lines, cable, dsl, and anything else you need but many of the buyers never bother to turn on a tv while they are here on their relaxing weekends. If you're lucky you won't have cell reception and you can just kick up your feet and enjoy the wilderness. On the way up here pick up a copy of Walden!
