Pretty Paving? Driveways are Going Green with Style!

Today more than ever, homeowners are looking for ways to save money and do something good for our environment. Recycling is catching on in a new way!

Cordell Shipping Container House has developed a new way to recycle glass called Filterpave. This unique method of paving consists of granite and 100% post consumer waste glass material. Glass in assorted colors like green and auburn (thanks to beer companies such as Amstel and Heineken) are blended together to make beautiful colors that not only create a porous surface, but a driveway that is sure to dazzle.

This method of porous driveways reduces runoff water and allows the water to absorb in the ground, reducing contaminants in our streams, lakes and overall environment.

Earthworks Group studies show that Americans throw away 28 billion bottles and jars every year. This glass ends up unnessarlily in our landfills. Recycling glass, plastic, paper, card board and other materials pave the way to a cleaner earth and way of life.
