Walker Knight Hardware Company on Jefferson Street in Eatonton provided me with a job, responsibilities, and experiences that have been more valuable to me than all of the education I have had throughout my lifetime. I returned to the old store today, but Walker Knight is long gone. In its place is one of the most unique shops in the Lake Country area, the Eatonton Market: Antiques, Gifts & Collectables. While the walls, floors and the store front have changed little over the years, the items for sale are much different. From Cigar Store Indian carvings to antique furniture, you may just find the perfect item to fill that void in your home or the special relic from your childhood that brings back great personal memories.
