Columbus Ga - Fort Benning - The National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center

Columbus Ga - Fort Benning - News: The largest monetary gift by an individual or corporation has been made to the National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center by the Synovus Foundation. Representing a combined gift from Synovus, CB&T Bank and TSYS the donation amount is $1.25 million. The museum will encompass some 200 acres at a cost of $85 million. Designed to honor the historical sacrifices made by soldiers the museum is presently under construction and expected to be completed in 2008.

Civic and business leaders in Columbus Ga have a long history of supporting military families and the soldiers serving our country. The donation of 1.25 million dollars goes a long way to show how committed the community is to honoring veterans and active duty soldiers.

Erika, thanks for the information.  I trained at Ft. Benning, and would love to visit the museum once it is operational.

I noticed that you used very few, if any "Tags" for this post.  You have included it on localism.com, but you might get more mileage out of this post if you also include it in the Active Rain Military and Military Relocations groups (you will have to join the groups, and then edit your post, to include it in those groups)  Their group members would be interested to read about this, I am sure.  To learn more about marketing your blog, read Marketing Your Blog: Categories, Tags and ActiveRain Groups
