Rezoning of 47 acres in Greenwood Industrial Park, Henry County

Industrial developer RACO General Contractors is requesting rezoning from Henry County of 47 acres in the Greenwood Industrial Park, near Ga. 155. The application is for a mixed use designation, which will include 322 apartments and 40,000 square feet of commercial space. This property is northeast of Heron Bay Golf and Lake community, a master planned community south of Atlanta, and could seriously impact the traffic flow from Heron Bay to I-75. There is already a backup near the interstate because of the industrial areas right off the exit. As of right now RACO does not have any agreements in place to sell the property, but will be marketing it if they receive the rezoning.
