According to a recent article in the Milton Herald, construction at Bethany High School in Milton will begin soon, and will come in under budget to boot! The unnamed school will be located by the Publix shopping center on Hwy 9 at the intersection of Bethany Bend and Cogburn Road. The design of the school will complement the look of Kings Ridge across the street.
According to the Herald, the school's construction contract was approved for $45.5 million, $14 million under the original budget projected four years ago, before the economic dow
nturn. Evergreen Construction will break ground in a few weeks with the opening scheduled for August 2012. Redistricting should occur well in advance- any student living in an area affected by the change will have the option of staying at Milton High School by providing their own transportation.
The addition of another new high school in North Fulton is a reflection of the continued growth in the area and will reduce commutes for many Milton residents.
