The square is lined with boutique shops and restaurants of every kind, and the downtown area is still alive and vibrant, and lures area residents from all over the county.

One of the most popular in-town eateries is Golden's on the Square. Golden's has food selections for every taste, and features classic southern home cooking. There is always a fine selection of meats and seafood, along with real home-style vegetables, salads, desserts and breads.

And you may choose a meat and two or three vegetables, or a three or four vegetable plate. All plates come with bread and unlimited beverage refills. It's a perfect spot for lunch or dinner!

You'll know that Golden's is different as soon as you walk in the door. The exposed brick and original heart pine floors lend a vintage look and feel to the restaurant. The overall effect is that of a Sunday dinner in times past, when hours were spent creating a sumptuous feast for family and friends.

And nearly every meal can be purchased for under ten dollars, so it's as easy on the budget as it is on the stomach!
