Newnan Georgia is blessed with a plethora of locally-owned and operated businesses! Many of these are establishments succeed because they are smaller and can provide exceptional personal attention and service. That is reflected in the friendly smiles and warm greetings that are extended to both newcomers and regular clientele alike. They are not considered to be just customers, but are treated as friends.
Peach Home Cooking is a splendid example of one such establishment. Tucked away in a quaint storefront on Perry Street, the small but intimate atmosphere is part of the in-town charm. The exposed brick walls are covered with an eclectic variety of pieces crafted by local artists, The heart pine floors add warmth and an antique ambience reminiscent of times past.
Chef Lisle Millard prepares food selections with a southern flair, and features classic southern home cooking in addition to some low country favorites. The menu is as eclectic as the pictures on the wall! There are daily specials, so every day presents new opportunities to try something different!
Some of my personal favorites are the shrimp and grits and the tomato basil chicken! And every Thursday is collards day, with mountains of the Dixie delicacy served piping hot with homemade pepper sauce!
And a complete meal can usually be purchased for under ten dollars, so several visits a week won't break the budget.
But don't expect to find Peach Home Cooking open in the evening for supper. Only breakfast and lunch are served!
