The 2009 Peachtree City Fourth of July fireworks display will begin at 9:30 P.M. on Saturday. Peachtree City has a tradition of offering the best pyrotechnics on the South side of Atlanta, and the show is always spectacular.
With Lake Peachtree used as a reflecting pool, the plethora of colors and sounds is a magical mix of awe-inspiring light and color and deafening sound!
If you are planning to attend the festivities, be sure to arrive early. The popularity of the annual gala increases every year, and traffic can be a nuisance. Be sure to park in designated areas and being a blanket of some chairs for seating.
Why not plan to come to Peachtree City on Independence Day? You'll be glad that you did.

Richard, those shots are spectacular! I hope to get some of my first night time fireworks shots this year with my handy dandy new camera. I am also planning to go to the carnival tomorrow nite and get some shots of that as well. I have my tripod ready, reading up on taking nite time pictures, now let's just hope the weather cooperates!
I remember some pretty spectacular fireworks when I lived in Atlanta. I can't remember where we went, but they were fantastic!
Awesome pics of the fireworks my friend. I would have to take about a billion shots to come up with those.
Andrea...
The newer cameras make it pretty easy, because you can shoot wide open and get good results. I'll just bet that you grab some great shots!
JL...

I would think of them as little more than princely words to be honest, but you can call them king if you like.

Beautiful post Richard. I love the pictures. Did you have to set your camera to any special settings to capture these pictures? I'd love some tips as I plan to photograph one of the many events going on in Northern Nevada tomorrow!
Christianne...
The only secret is a "fast" lens, one that has a large aperture that lets in a lot of light and shortens the exposure.
Since the focal depth of field is relatively flat, the faster the better!
If you don't have a fast lens, use a tripod to steady the shot.
I hope that helps!
Good Evening Richard,
Thanks for bring us these great pictures today. You sure display great photos. Hope you have a great 4th of July. Enjoy
I enjoy seeing your posts.

Richard,
Excellent shots. So many people try to shoot fireworks pictures to capture the moment. You have done a superb job. :)
Steve
Richard, your post brought very fond memories. I lived in Fayetteville for twenty five years. We would go to the Peachtree City fireworks display often. I started my real estate career with Century 21 Southern Crescent back when Anne Minter used to be the owner.
So here in Miami, where I have been for six years, I read all your posts to find out what's going on "back home". I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday.
Well got to go, I have an 11:00 a.m. appointment - yes, I am working today!
Hi Richard! I hope you have a wonderful time this evening and enjoy the fireworks! You've managed to take some extraordinary fireworks shots (these are VERY difficult to capture as I've taken hundreds of terrible fireworks shots)!! Congrats on that little gold star!
Have a safe holiday weekend...
We have family who lives in Peachtree City, and we have seen the 4th of July fireworks there. and it is Awesome!!!
Richard, looks like it is an awesome event. I hope to see some more shots. Have a great time and congrats on the feature.
Really nice shoots. Now time to practice . . .ooh . . . .Awh . .. . .oooh .. . . .Awh. . . .! God Bless America. I really love this holiday.
