Last week, I had an inquiry from a prospective buyer who wanted to know if there are any grants available for restoring historic homes. I did some research and found a list of grants, loans and tax incentives available on the Georgia Department of Natural Resources website. For the most part, grants are available to government entities, non-profits and commercial property owners. Residential property owners may qualify for tax incentives though. Please keep in mind that any grant or tax incentive is going to have guidelines and restrictions that must be followed to qualify for the program. I thought it was a great question, and allowed me to find another resource for my business.
If you have a real estate question, please do not hesitate to contact me. I want to be a resource for you.

There can be monies available for many renovations if people know where to look.
Hi Brenda,
THANKS for your comments. In addition to the link that I've provided, where else can people find grant money for renovating historic homes for residential use?
