This is the time of year when Halloween and Fall sets upon
us. For those trying to sell a home it is a depressing sign that sales may still not arrive until early spring. It doesn't have to be that way.
Yes, real estate sales usually slow down this time of year, and many think that it is just a seasonal thing. Most sellers and agent do not understand that homes are still selling. It takes more than just placing a sign in the ground adn an MLS listing to sell a home. However if you were selling your home for an entire year or years...things can get scarier if you home is not sold. Failure is not an option, and here is the reason:
Vacant homes be come attractive nuisances for teenagers and invite trouble with trespassing, and vandalism! Vacant homes can also wear down much faster because maintenance has been totally deferred. Lawns, and shrubbery go wild, and gutters slowly fill with leaves and decay. Insects, and all kinds of types of critters view your home as a 'Welcome" sign! That is probably not a good thing. Your home will actually repel buyers away from your home.
Before you list a home it is wise to see if the agent you hire has a plan to sell your home. Do they have a website that can be easily found buy buyer looking for homes in your area? With over 85% of all home sales taking place from the Internet, how could you list a home with an agent that cannot produce a sale?
