Most of the residents of Lake Harding Georgia have never witnessed such a cold start to the new year.
We have had a cold streak for the last two weeks. The average high temperature here in January is 56 degrees with a low of 36 degrees. The record high is 75 degrees (1960) and the recorded low was 19 degrees (1964). Well, that record has been broken this year with a low of 14 degrees.
The lake actually began to freeze! The pictures show parts of the lake frozen up to 50 feet from the bank! That's incredible! Needless to say, we are ready for the temperature to begin to rise. We are looking for a high of 65 tomorrow and welcome it with open arms.
