Everybody knows the average Joe. Although the average Joe varies from region to region across the country, you can bet you know him where you live. Most of us are friends with, and do business with, the average Joe. In fact, most of us ARE the average Joe.
The average Joe in the state of Georgia lives in a $235,000 home. The average Joe in Georgia moves every 7 years. The average Joe lists his home with a Realtor when it's time to market his home. The average Joe sifts and sorts through pictures of available homes on the Internet when wanting to purchase a new home.
So when it's time for average Joe to sell his home how does the average Joe stand out from the average Joe? After all, there are more average Joe homes on the market than any other homes.
The average Joe should employ the services of a home stager. Home staging services are priced and performed to the average Joe's budget. Home stagers consult the home seller on how to make their home appeal to the average Joe home buyer, which are the most potential buyers available. By making inexpensive transformations utilizing the furniture and belongings that the average Joe already has, home stagers bring out the best feature's of an average Joe's home. The home stager will bring in appealing color and accessories to help the average Joe buyer to visualize a homes potential. Home stagers can apply flow techniques enhancing the functionality of the average Joe home. The average Joe seller's home that has been staged will have better than average photos on the internet for the average Joe buyers to see.
Currently, in Georgia, the average Joe's home has been on the market for 109 days, and the average Joe receives $5,000 less than his asking price. Research statistics show that staged homes sell for 7% more and sell in half the time of homes that have not been staged. So, if you are an average Joe wanting to experience a better than average statistic, have your home staged and shift above the average Joe.
Sometimes home staging is thought to be for the rich and famous. Well, it is. But the benefits and value of home staging is just as cost-effective for every average Joe. It's for you, too, AVERAGE JOE!

Nothing average about this post Karen - you nailed it once again! Your graphic has a"Mr. Peanut" look & feel to him - it's adorable and brings back memories of a paper mache project in 10th grade! I'll catch up with you later - I'm off to a weeks vacation and won't be "raining" much in the mountains of NC.
Thx, Karen! paper mache brings back memories of girl scouts for me!
Hmmm . . . You know, I could of named him "Plano Joe" instead of the average Joe!
Again -- have a great, safe trip! Anything you can take to nurse the rain withdrawals?
Hi Karen, quick question! In your post you wrote "Research statistics show that staged homes sell for 7% more and sell in half the time of homes that have not been staged"...
Can I ask where you got that info? I'm working on a marketing idea for stagers since a lot of you "guys" seem to be having trouble getting your message across to realtors and the public in general.
I'll be looking for stats on staging and would love to find a few sources of credible, tangible info. Anything you(or any other stager) can share with me would be appreciated. Thanks...
Karen,
I LOVE this post! You certainly covered all the important reasons to stage and how it is affordable to all, but you did it in such a 'user-friendly' way! I also like the way that you showed the statistics for the 'average Joe"...once again, in a way that the 'average' person can relate to! You should try to get this published in your local newspaper!
VAL
Karen - This post is definitely above average!!!
Marti - Staging stats are tough to come by. You can check here for the most credible one I've found.
Beautifully written! I really enjoy reading your posts...they always have an unexpected angle and this Average Joe is clever and effective. Great Job...keep them coming cause I always make the time to read them.

Can I just say that you are one smart woman! I think you are just one step ahead of the crowd. Always making a thoughtful point. Thank you, thank you.
SO TRUE! which is why i don't agree with 7,000 pricing tag for staging a home when i can do it for 2.
cheers,
cindy
Hi Maureen and thanks, I'll check out the link you listed.
I am flattered! Glad you all liked.
Marti -- glad to see Maureen got you the stat info you were looking for. You can also find it in the article NAR published in the Realtor Magazine this July. I am anxious to see what your creative mind is conjuring up for us!
Hi Val! Your words are so kind. I do post some of the articles I write on PRBuzz and Ezine.com -- But I think you're right, maybe if I alter this one to my Fayette County (Atlanta Suburb), using county stats, instead of Georgia, our local paper may be interested. I'll give it a try. Thx!
Hey RSHMOE! thx for the compliment and a quick response back to Marti for me!
Sheron, Sheron, Sheron -- you make me blush! Thx for all that support you throw my way!
Wow! Rhonda -- you just made my day -- "SMART" and "a step ahead" Thx so much for your comments!
Cindy -- great perspective you have girl! Proud to share our profession across the miles with you!"
Karen, thanks for the NAR link, it's much appreciated. Have a great weekend.
