Avoid Displaying Your Home Office in the Master Suite

Even setting up a small personal office in the master bedroom suite dilutes the mood of privacy and relaxation.

BEFORE --

AFTER -- In this Atlanta area home, staging simply required rearranging the location of the desk, depersonalizing the space, and adding a seating arrangement. Now a potential buyer can appreciate the benefit this space brings to the master suite. This bay window nook took on a tranquil feeling and displays a sense of privacy for reading and personal time. Small tapestries above the windows were used to show off the height of the ceilings and add a splash of color.

Thanks for the tip!  It is really helpful to see the before and after.  Good luck with your listing

I like the before and after

Karen I love the after. It is much more inviting to prospective buyers. Good staging.

Great way to appeal to more potential buyers!  Plus, who wants to think about work in the bedroom (although we all probably do!).

Jamie -- I've got tips galore!  e-mail me any time!  Thx for stopping by

Hi Rebecca -- glad you liked the photo's.  Thx!

Ashley -- I agree -- the after tells it all -- who wouldn't want to have their morning coffee there with hubby on a lazy Sunday, instead of at the desk?

Lori -- OH -- work in the MASTER bedroom.  It's just not right, but it amazing how many people set up an office there!  To me it screams, "this house is so small there is no place else to do your finances!  I actually like a kid's room with computer space and homework spot -- BUT NOT THE MASTER!

Great job, Karen!   The desk seemed so small for the room.  Your changes make it much more inviting.

thx Kathy -- the master is not a place for a home office; even a small (no computer) one.   didn't even know offices w/o computers where still in existence!  thx for the post!

.

Few bedrooms are large enough to pull off being both bedrooms and offices.  Thanks for sharing your pictures and this reminder.
