The Galleries on East Main invite you to their brand new event, The Art Walk in downtown Blue Ridge on Saturday, July 17, 2010 from 5:00 pm to 8:00pm. The hosts are: Multitudes Gallery, Turning Leaf Wood Art, High Country Art & Antique, Abreu Fine Art. This event takes place every 3rd Saturday until December.

Downtown Blue Ridge is one of those charming little towns, where people like to park the car and walk around, window shopping, taking in the history and popping into a few gift galleries and antique stores along the way. Or maybe just sit awhile and people watch. Bring your dog because we are a pet friendly town and many business owners will even leave water out for your pal.

While you are downtown, visit some of the other shops along Main Street. A delightful mix of eclectic shops, fine galleries and outstanding restaurants. Pop into Anasazi and tell Al Hart, the owner, that Donna sent you! I worked one summer for Al in his wonderful, unique southwestern gallery and it was a blast. I had recently taken an early retirement after 30 years in a major corporation and honestly, didn't know what to do with my time. I had never worked in a beautiful gift shop in a tourist town before so it was something new to try. I had a blast and the visitors who came into town were the best part of all.

Come, relax and enjoy the unique character of a small mountain town. Pop into the Coldwell Banker office just across from the train depot and give me a shout out!
