DeKalb County, GA, commissioners voted on and passed a controversial "Foreclosure Registry Ordinance" whereby owners of foreclosed properties must pay a fee and register the properties with the county or face fines of up to $1000 per day.
Details of the new ordinance can be seen in an article by the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors by clicking here.
It is quite obvious there is a problem with the high number of foreclosures and unkept properties in DeKalb County. However, gouging all banks and investors because the county is to lazy to do a little title work and go after violators does not seem to be the best approach to me.
Have a great day!
