Let's just say that you have bought a house! The negotiating is over, the contracts are signed, repairs have been agreed upon and you are just waiting for the CLOSING.
Your realtor assures you that all paperwork is done and gives you directions to meet at the attorneys office on the closing date. You and your family are THRILLED! Sometimes this euphoria can cause buyers to do things that are detrimental to the deal!
Things not to do before closing:
1. Don't quit your job: Once you lose your job the lender may not allow the loan to go through. This is all dependent on how much you're putting down, if a spouse's income is also part of the equation and other factors.
2. Don't buy the new BMW: Some home owners get so excited about their shiny-new home that they feel that a shiny-new car would look good in the driveway. Anything that can affect your credit prior to the closing can possibly "throw a wrench in the monkey works." This also holds true for furniture, jewelry or any other impulsive big ticket item.
Stability...or "stay the course" is the rule. Don't send up any red flags to the mortgage company prior tyo close.
