Parents in Grovetown GA are excited about the opening of Columbia County's newest elementary school. Baker Place Elementary is located at 2011 Hero Way off Baker Place Road in Grovetown.
Students from Kindergarten to Fifth grade will be walking down the gleaming new halls in the Fall of 2011. Columbia County's Parent-Teacher Organization chose the name and an Eagle will be the mascot.
Leeann Fleischauer will be the schools new principal. Ms. Fleischauer began teaching in 1996 and was named Teacher of the Year for the 2005-06 school year.
