On the heels of the Georgia Marble Festival two-weeks ago here in Jasper, GA, this weekend we have the Heritage Days Festival just minutes away in Talking Rock, GA.
A smaller affair than the Marble Festival, the Heritage Days Festival has a real small town charm to it that is fitting for the quaint little historical town of Talking Rock. With vendor booths setup on either side of sparkling Talking Rock Creek, in front of the old storefronts that make up the single street business district, it is a charming setting for a morning or afternoon stopover.
Check out some arts, crafts, and antiques on a breezy fall day, with the rich smoky smell of meals prepared on the spot, and the sounds of live gospel / bluegrass performances in the background. And of course, what would the Talking Rock Heritage Days Festival be without donkey cart rides!!! ;-)
The festival will be held this Saturday and Sunday, October 16 & 17, 2010, from 9-5 pm both days.
(If this is your first visit to Talking Rock GA, be sure to check out the 1877 Talking Rock Schoolhouse Teaching Museum while you are there!)
Enjoy . . .
