I love my niche. I get to hang out with cars and the people that like them.
So, Tucker is one of the suburb communities here. It is small-town America... minutes from big city. And Main Street is only a few minutes from my house. One Saturday each month through most of the year, the cars gather... and their people, too.
On July 12th they will have the next Tucker cruise-in.
Even though there were severe thunderstorms that rolled through the area earlier in the evening (made me late for the event), there were still 20+ cars that turned out. Restorations, Rods, Rats, trucks, and customs.
On a normal Saturday event, there might be 80 or more rides there.

Lane - I enjoy the car guys also. The local corvette club have a small show in franklin yesterday, and as usually it had me out looking at cars.
My son would love to be around this I think he might have Quaker State instead of blood.
Larry - It is just so fun... and so are the people.
Terry - Mine is getting that way :D
Lane - I couldn't tell if the red rod was supercharged or just had a tunnel ram on it. I am a huge fan of 10-71 or larger blowers. I have a 509 with a 1471 on it and you can hear the whine seriously from 1/4 mile away. The sound of a pulsing supercharger puts a smile on my face.
Sam - Dayum... a 14-71. That is a LOAD of huffer. You have to have some serious stuff to deal with the air that thing can push.
Lane - The 14-71 is an absolute riot. If you have ever experienced the pulse of a 6-71 blower at idle just imagine how it sounds on a 14-71 and a pair of Flowmaster Top 10 shootout mufflers. It is a ton of fun and I am planning on putting this engine into my Malibu which currently has a naturally aspirated 572 currently.
Sam - I used to know a guy up in MN that decided to make a roots blower that could be turned off and on (think Mad Max). He had scores of people tell him it wasn't possible, but he had a Hemi Cuda with a 8-71 that he could turn off and on. It was funny to see that thing sticking through the hood, with the engine running and the blower belt not moving... and then watch him turn it on.
Lane - That would be an interesting setup. My rotors in my 14 are so snug that I doubt much fuel or air would get past them if they were not turning.
Sam - He had managed a bypass system. It didn't go through the blower, and the air was compressed before the carb. It was something COMPLETELY different than what you would expect.
Lane, not from your neck of the woods but had to chime in. Must be a car guy thing. Just found out my 64 !/2 Comet Cyclone will be in this issue of Hemmings Muscle Car Magazine. Had to brag a bit-hope you don't mind. Love those Classic Cars. Cheers to you! Thanks much.
Matt
Matt - Cool ride. I don't mind at all...
