2007 Ford Ironman and its effects on Kailua Kona Real Estate

The 2007 Ford Ironman has come and gone, and according to most - Kona is the most prestigious race of the year, with its sometimes very hot weather, its sometimes rough seas, and the high winds of Waikoloa, it tends to take the best of the best to win at this race. In fact quite a few favorites were eliminated early in the race this year. There is plenty of articles to read about that - but what about the real estate effects, the town is packed, 1,800 competitors, plus all there support teams, and familys! What does it really mean for our economy. I ran a few numbers and here they are

10/8/2007 - 10/15/2007 (Ironman week) 7 properties, just in Kailua Kona went into escrow

9/8/2007 - 9/15/2007 - just 3 properties went into escrow ???

8/8/2007 - 8/15/2007 - just 2 properties went into escrow?

Not real scientific, but the numbers don't lie

I know my showings have increased this week, and possibly an offer coming in on My Alii Cove Listing!
