KULA IS ON FIRE- Gusty winds hampered Maui firefighters in Kula yesterday
afternoon when a fire broke out near King Kekaulike High School. About 15
acres of a field were affected. The roads were blocked while they battled
the flames with lots of personnel and gear including 2 helicopters
attempting water drops in the windy weather. No injuries or damage to
homes were reported.

Georgina - very nice blog post, and I love the photos. That trophy home sounds awesome!
Your proteas are gorgeous. They are one of my favorite plants, but they also are one of the few plants that I have been unsuccessful at growing. :(
Sharon and Russel thanks for your comments. The protea are hard to grow here too and generally only do well in the cooler climate upcountry.
