Maui is an amazing place. It has so many different faces. You have South Maui, which is made up of Kihei and Wailea. South Maui is more of a resort community. Very much like Lahaina side of the island. Warm beaches and lots of things to do for the tourist.
Upcountry Maui has a totally different feeling to it. If you cruise into Makawao town, it still has the feeling of an old cowboy town. You might see a cattle truck driving through town or horse trailers pulling there cargo to work or just for a ride in the hills. Upcountry has areas that people favor for living. There are people that just love Olinda, located right above Makawao town. Olinda offers rolling hills and beautiful pasture views over looking the pacific ocean.
