Oahu Real Estate Market Update - June 2009

The Honolulu Board of Realtors released statistics for the month of June. Below is the chart:

A total of 254 single family home sales were recorded last month, up from 232 single family homes that sold last June. In contract, the median home price for last month was $569,000 down from last June, which was $625,000.

Condominium resales illustrate the same trend...more home sales in June than last year, but median sales prices for this year are down compared to one year ago.

This indicates that lower prices are perhaps starting to lure buyers back into the market.

If you've been thinking of purchasing a home, now is the time. With the inventory moving and prices low, that home you've had your on eye waiting for the "right time" may not be available when you finally decide to pursue it!
