RUN & WALK FOR THE WHALES--SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2012

Run & Walk for the WhalesThe Pacific Whale Foundation hosts Run & Walk For The Whales, this Saturday, February 4. This fun run and walk helps raise money to support the ongoing research and educational programs of the Pacific Whale Foundation.

This race boasts another ocean-view course, and since there has been plenty of whale activity lately, you are certain to see whales this Saturday during the event.

Adults have several options to participate. You can run in the Half-Marathon which will start at 6:30 a.m. Or you may opt to run or walk in the 5K, both which start at 7:30 a.m. There is also a 2K Children's Run starting at 8 a.m.

This event will be held at the Makena Beach & Golf Resort at 5400 Makena Alanui Road in Makena. Parking will be at the Wailea Events lot in Wailea at the corner of Wailea Iki and Kalai Wa'a. Shuttle buses will begin departing the parking lot at 5 a.m. to transport racers to the Makena Beach Resort.

A free breakfast will be served to all participants after the races. Awards will be gien to the top three finishers in each age category. Walkers will receive a commemorative gift and there will be a top "boy" and "girl" finisher award in the Children's Run.

The Pacific Whale Foundation is a non-profit organization that was started to help save the whales from extinction. Their extraordinary research and educational programs are possible because of donations and money raised from events like this Run & Walk For The Whales.
