Makena Beach or "Big Beach" is a peaceful mile-long beach off a dirt road. Adjoining to the North of Makena Beach and separated by a 360-foot high cinder cone, is PU'U Olai Beach or "Little Beach". Little Beach is clothing-optional and excellent for swimming and snorkeling on calm days.
