Maui's outdoor showers

Outdoor showers are one of the special joys that can come with owning Maui real estate. With the tropical climate being so comfortable, many Maui homeowners enjoy a shower located out in the yard, these unique showers are made from lava rock, bamboo, or just about anything, as long as it has a shower fixture, and water supply, it will work. This is a great way to enjoy the moon and stars when you have been working indoors too much, or say good morning to the world on a beautiful sunny morning. Many jungle homes on the rural northshore of Maui have these outdoor showers, (they are great for cleaning up after gardening) also, homes in Kihei and Makena which are near the beaches and finally most all Maui homes in Maui with pools will have some sort of a outdoor shower.

Here are some examples of an outdoor shower made with simple materials of bamboo and wood.

Now that looks awesome!  I love it.  I am wondering how the privacy is though.  I got married in Maui and love it there and visit every 6 months to a year or so.  Ive never seen one so Im guessing they are somewhat private. :)

Some are very private, others that are in more rural areas, are just surrounded by foliage, because the property owner know that nobody will be walking up.  Depends on the level of privacy thay you want.  It's great you get to visit Maui so often.

Nice post Karen - I see a lot of those showers, and it's funny how many buyers are thrilled when they see one.

Aloha Karen,

I love my outdoor shower and prefer it to my indoor one. I Have great Mauka and Makai veiws and I love watching the whales and dolphins swim by.

Peace,

Hey Georgie, nice to hear from you, funny how we get used to seeing them here, but buyers that are not used to seeing em are always so suprised  (usually a good suprised  :) Hope things are going well.

Kimo, I am sooo jealous of your view... how'd you get so lucky?  I still enjoy my view of greeen and blue  Plants and sky :)
