Embracing CHANGE.....Is the Key to Being a Successful Realtor

CHANGE.

If I do not have the ability to change MYSELF and my thinking then how will I have the ability to work with a constantly changing market?

My being a successful REALTOR® lies not only in acquiring and continuing to acquire more experience and knowldege in the Real Estate Industry (as well as other Industry Related professions) but also to continue working on myself from the inside out.

  • As a successful REALTOR® I hold Integrity at the highest level. I am accountable and responsible for everything I do.
  • As a successful REALTOR® I have the ability to change as the market changes. (Being resilient and being able to bounce back ...bounce around is part of the key!) I research and keep up to date with our ever changing market and laws such as Hawaii (Oahu) Zoning, Special Use and Building Permits
  • As a successful REALTOR® I have an open mind and always put myself in another's shoes because there are always other views to take into consideration besides my own.
  • As a successful REALTOR® I follow our NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® Code of Ethics (REALTORS'® Pledge of Performance and Service) I don't take short cuts. I go above and beyond so I can sleep at night!
  • As a successful REALTOR® I use different marketing skills and explain thorougly about our "different" market in Hawaii wtih information such as HAWAII OPEN HOUSES (RULES WHILE ATTENDING) ...and our market in Hawaii is like no other just as other states differ from ours. It is my dedication to pass this information along to the consumer.

I have hopes, dreams and goals. I AM A SUCCESSFUL PERSON and REALTOR® BECAUSE I BELIEVE THAT "NOTHING IHE WORLD IS CONSTANT...EXCEPT CHANGE!"

Without our ability to be visionaries, we could not see into the future.
There would be no hopes, dreams, goals, and no creativity. CAROL KURTZ WALSH

Another Great Post!

Steph:  Thanks!  Just trying to stay focused today.

Sally, Wow! That is a terrific post. I am right there with you on those five points - However as a Maryland REALTOR® - It is wonderful to meet such people like yourself through AR

And I too with you too Phillip....you are definitely one who I would refer to....I guess I'll have to talk to you at that point...haha!

Woo-hoo, Sally!  You spelled it out in a very clear, very responsible way.  You must be a joy to work with!

Woo Hoo Sally...

Well no wonder you made that comment on my post. You obviously have this "changing" thing on your mind.

That's a good thing. We should never resist change. If we do we will NOT grow :)

I know for some people that is difficult to do.

But, hopefully as they age they will acquire the ability to change and move forward as life does.

TLW...ROAR!

Sally,

Nice tribute. Change is good.

WooHoo Sally-How did I miss this?  Or did I?  For some reason I thought I left a comment here before.  I really love this post, like a mission statement.....True Conviction!!!!  I love it

Sarah:  Well, I believe I am.  Moreso, I believe I have fun all by myself as well!  If one likes self...life is grand! And a pleasure with others as well!

TLW:  Believe me....at times I am resistant to change...yuk!  Then I take a step back...look at it from a different perspective...and you know what?  Never know until I try.  And that's what paves the way to change....opening the mind!

Neal: Thanks bud.

Midori: Revised and public now and better with the "changes"...woohoo!

Sally-I was getting a little worried, I noticed Neal did the same thing the other day!  Made me think I was suffering major memory loss or halucinating!   Ok, well let me tell you I think your posts are getting better and better and when I don't think they can get better you suprise me once again.  I love your stuff!

Midori!  You're so funny....but hey, not as bad as someone doing that and I totally did not remember and commented again...haha!

Sally,  this was a very moving post - you articulated what makes YOU a great realtor to work with - well done. So often these are the intangibles not 'what commision do you charge" that make the real difference.

The people of Hawaii are lucky to have an agent like you working for them - I second Midori's comments - you just keep getting better and better.

Sally - What a great post! Change is necessary as we grow in whatever capacity. I like that you have firmly established your value both as a Realtor and as a person. Best!

Cyndee:  Wow....I appreciate the comment!  They are lucky aren't they? Haha!

Paula: Have to! Thanks for dropping by!

Change is not good or bad, it is reality.  If someone can not stay with the changes, they will be kicked to the side.

Your willingness to learn, to hold to your ethics and the ability to adapt to the changing market will keep you successful.

Randy:  Thanks for your input... You know me....I let emotions get in the way (with certain circumstances) but as long as I know I've done my best I can always go to sleep at night.

This was a great post. Matter of fact, I need to read this post EVERYDAY. Thank you very much. Again,a great post. You should own your own Real Estate franchise- SERIOUSLY.

Lanre:  Why thank you! and no...just want to be a good person...not just a great real estate agent! WooHoo Sally!

Go girl!  More Realtor's should follow your bulletpoints, especially putting yourself in others shoes.  That can apply to us Lenders too!

Pete:  Glad you think it would be beneficial to others.

Powerful, absolutely powerful.

Loreena:  Thank you for the comment....
