My very first blog and I thought it should be about my very great city of Davenport, Iowa.
The City of Davenport has just recently announced it's own stimulus package called the Davenport NOW Program. Starting July 1, 2009, homeowners in Davenport, Iowa who construct a new, owner-occupied residential structure or new commercial structure (with the exeption of rental properties) will be eligible, as well as every property owner investing more than $5,000 in new assessed value to a current structure.
The program allows those eligible to receive a rebate for 50% of the City's share of your property taxes for 10 years. And you may choose to receive it either in an up-front one time rebate OR multiple rebates spread out over 10 years.

The Davenport NOW Program may also be combined with the $8,000 Federal Tax Credit Program for first time homebuyers.
