Investing in Real Estate in Des Moines as A Vehicle to Wealth
How would you like to have an extra $1,000,000 socked away for your retirement? For most, the answer would be "Heck Yes! Well, you might be surprised to learn you can accomplish this goal by investing in residential rental properties right here in our own back yard- the Des Moines Iowa area!
OK, I don't want this to sound like some get rich scheme... Because that's NOT what I am talking about! However, if you decide this approach is right for you, the results can be pretty amazing to your bottom line.
Owning rental investment properties, as a long term investment, can be highly lucrative. The impact of having just one rental investment property, could boost your retirement income (or net worth, depending what your focus is) by over a quarter million dollars over 30 years. (More on that in Part 2.) And, if you find that you like owning real estate, this process could actually be your retirement vehicle, all by itself!
From a personal perspective, I love Real Estate as an investment. I love to be able to touch, and see my properties. For me, investing in a company, in some far away city isn't exciting to me. I don't want my input limited to "Where to send the quarterly reports!" But real estate is what I know especially having grown up around rentals, real estate and construction in general.
Truthfully, when I dig really, really deep, there is one facet of owning rentals I find the most rewarding. It's the fact that owning rentals allows a person to build a considerable amount of wealth-that some one else pays for- while AT THE SAME TIME providing a highly needed service for others; in the form of a place for someone to call home. OK, I admit it. I don't like the thought of making a profit without providing in return a quality, sought after service.
The key is making a plan and putting it into action! I always liken it to planting a tree. After you plant a seed, you water it, and care for it. And it takes years for that tree to grow tall and grow strong and tall. But in time, the tree suddenly starts caring for you. It can provide you shelter from the elements. It might provide you with food. It can even produce seeds that can plant completely new trees for you. And if ever needed, you can chop the tree down and build something totally new with it!
Owning investment properties is no different. So take a moment to visit my friend "Jack B. Rich" in Part Two to see how his journey into investment properties made him a believer, and resulted in some serious net worth from a few simple decisions!
