Introducing Yourself to a "Farm Area."

I have an area of about 150 homes that I would like to have as one of my farm areas. It is an area where I grew up as a boy, in fact, my parents still live in this area. I want to be sure and capitalize on the fact that I grew up in this area and attended the local schools,etc... Can anyone offer me any suggestions regarding the most bang for your buck (i.e., monthly newsletters, helpful hints, seasonal related items, information that's of value, etc.) I also know that you have about eight seconds, once a person reads your information before they either A. throw it in the trash, or B. save it to read, either now or later. I learned a lesson a few years back with a business I owned, by sending out a flyer that was too long, too wordy, and not of much value to the recipient. I am calling upon the Active Rain Elder Statesman for ideas that I can implement in my farm area. Thanking you in advance gods, and goddesses!!! As always, thank you for your input!
