John Jantsch and Barrett Niehus have commented recently on referral strategies being used or thought of by real estate agents. This got my melon to thinkin' as I was playing golf this morning (it's for my mental and physical therapy, don't you know). I asked the owner if he would donate a round of golf to anyone who had a closing with me in the near future. He said, "Sure." In exchange, I would advertise his golf course in what I would call for now a coupon booklet. I would have several of these coupon booklets with me at all times and pass them out to acquaintances, friends, grocery store and gas station attendants, etc. Make a coupon booklet with several sponsors of your business and advertise a free service (i.e. free carwash, maid service, curbside junk pickup after moving, etc.) On the cover of your booklet, have your logo, brand, and contact information. How many agents do you know that have their own coupon booklet??? Maybe the grocery store would donate a free melon to me for using my melon!!!
