October is Window Covering Safety Month

When window cords are within reach, young children may become entangled and accidentally strangle.
The Window Covering Safety Council (WCSC) is dedicated to providing consumer information and educational materials on window-cord safety. They also offer consumers free retrofit devices for addressing potential cord hazards on older window treatments. Your child's safety is our top priority. We wish to take this opportunity to remind you to replace or retrofit corded window coverings purchased before 2001 with today's safer products. According to information provided by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, since 1990, more than 200 infants and young children have died from accidentally strangling in window cords.
